Chris De Herrera serves as
CIO (Chief Information Officer) for Pacific Crest Bank of
Agoura Hills, California a wholly owned subsidiary of Pacific
Crest Capital - NASDAQ:PCCI. He first started working with
computers over 20 years ago. His first computer was the
original Pocket Computer called the C-1 from Radio Shack.
Since that time, he has worked with PDAs, PCs, LANs and
WANs. Chris has been following Windows CE and the Pocket
PC since their inception. He is the founder of CEWindows.NET,
recognized as one of the top 10 Pocket PC websites by Pocket
PC Magazine for the past 4 years. Through their website,
hardware manufacturers such as Hewlett Packard, Compaq,
and LG Electronics, refer users to CEWindows.NET to solve
problems beyond their scope of support. He writes for Pocket
PC Magazine, and is of the founding writers for PocketPC.com.
He assists users in the Microsoft.Public.PocketPC newsgroup
and for the past 3 years, Microsoft has recognized contributions
by designating him a Microsoft Most Valuable Professional
- Mobile Devices. He has been a guest speaker at events
such as The Screen Savers, Comdex, Wrox Wireless Developers
Conference, InEX and the SAP E-Business Summit discussing
the Pocket PC. He sits on the board of the Los Angeles Pocket
PC Users Group as well as the advisory board for the Computer
Science Department of Los Angeles Pierce College for over
10 years. And as mentioned, in addition to his many contributions
to the Pocket PC community, Chris oversees the implementation
of computing goals and objectives as Chief Information Officer
for a Southern California-based financial institution.
